Daily Start quietly notices the ordinary rhythms of a normal morning and sends the family one warm hello, so everyone knows the day has started as usual. The person at home gives that reassurance without a daily phone call to make, and it helps the family stay in touch as often as they'd like. No cameras. No wearables. Nothing to wear, charge, or remember.
Margaret's day started at 7:43am
Everything looks like a normal day.
No photos or video, ever.
Nothing to wear or charge.
Nothing said in the house is ever heard.
What the sensors do notice is deliberately small: movement in a room, and a door opening. That is all it takes to know a day has started, and it is all we ever collect.
Three small sensors, on the fridge and a door or two, quietly pick up the ordinary start of a day. Nothing for them to set up, nothing on show.
"Margaret's day started at 7:43am." One gentle note that their day has begun, so you can get on with yours, reassured.
If the usual signs haven't appeared by a time you choose, you get a calm suggestion to ring, never an alarm. Most of the time, it just means they're out having a life.
See the whole process, from ordering to your first morning →
No graphs, no dashboards, nothing to interpret. Just a colour that answers the only question that matters.
And if the internet drops out, you'll know it's a connectivity blip: clearly, calmly, never mistaken for a missed morning. That distinction is the heart of how we're built.
The daily "did you get up okay?" text, the one everyone feels obliged to send and answer, quietly disappears. Daily Start even gives the family a gentle nudge if nobody's called or visited in a few days. Reassurance should bring you closer, not further apart.
Usually $349
Everything below, paired and ready. Yours to keep.
Then one simple plan
One plan for the whole household, with no per-person fees and no tiers to choose from. Or $149 a year.
$14.95 /month
Founding families: the first 50 households pay just $9.95 a month, locked in for as long as you stay with us.
In the kit, all pre-paired before it ships
The hub
Plug it into power and your internet, and it's on.
A sensor for the fridge door
In every kit. Milk for the morning cuppa, and the one door in a house that closes itself every single time.
A second door sensor, and you pick the door
A bedroom, the bathroom, the back door, the cupboard where the bread's kept. Whichever one really gets used.
A movement sensor, or a third door sensor
Movement, for a hallway or kitchen. If there's a cat or a dog in the house we send a third door sensor instead, at no extra cost, so a pet can't be mistaken for somebody up and about.
Every plan includes
Away scheduling, and the honest "offline, not a worry" signal
The gentle nudge if nobody's called or visited in a few days
No lock-in, so pause or cancel the plan whenever you like
We haven't quite launched yet, so signing up simply registers your interest, and there's nothing to pay today. We'll be in touch within the month to welcome you as one of our first 50 households, at the founding rate.
Two optional extras, $39 each. A small plug-in network switch, if the router has no spare port left, so the hub stays on the most reliable wired connection. And an extra door sensor, if you'd like one more door covered.
Prices in NZD. The founding kit price and founding rate are limited to the first 50 households.
Won't I get false alarms?
A quiet morning is a gentle nudge to call, never a blaring alarm. If they're simply out, that's a lovely reason for a "where are you off to?" call. And an internet blip is shown as exactly that, never as a missed morning.
Where does the information go?
Only to your family group, the people you invite. We never sell it, and there are no cameras or microphones to capture anything in the first place. The person at home can ask to see, change, or stop it any time.
Does the person at home have to do anything?
Nothing at all, not even on setup if they'd rather not. No app to open, no button to press, nothing to charge. That's the whole idea.
What if they're away?
Mark the away time in the app, whether it's a trip or every Tuesday at a partner's place, and the daily check simply pauses. No one has to remember anything once it's set.
Is this a medical alarm?
No, and that's deliberate. Daily Start isn't an emergency service or a medical device. There's no button, no fall detection, and no calls to anyone. It's a quiet, everyday reassurance that the day has started, and a gentle prompt to stay in touch.
Peace, without the checking-up.
